Making competitive and sustainable EU agriculture a reality

EBIC (European Biostimulants Industry Council) holds its third annual Summit on 12 June 2025 in Brussels. This year’s theme is particularly timely since the new EU policy cycle focuses on improving Europe’s competitiveness and resilience, including delivering on the renewed EU Vision for Food and Agriculture. Join us to consider how innovative agrifood sectors like plant biostimulants will contribute to agricultural competitiveness, sustainability, and resilience.

The EBIC Summit is an established forum for senior business leaders, policymakers, farmers, and other agrifood stakeholders to debate the key challenges facing EU agriculture. EBIC’s unique combination of highly interactive sessions and connecting people from across the agrifood ecosystem in new ways will spark strategic insights, forge new partnerships, and unveil fresh solutions to stubborn challenges.

With a stellar line up of speakers including input from DG AGRI and DG GROW on EU strategies for sustainable innovation, and panel contributions from industry CEOs and veterans from companies like Riso Gallo, Valagro, and Brandon BioSciences, as well as leaders from ECN, FEFAC, IPA Europe, and EuropaBio, the EBIC Summit is free to journalists but we do ask you to register for logistical reasons.

Cocktail and networking evening with keynote address from Professor Ian Goldin of Oxford University, former Vice President of the World Bank and policy advisor to Nelson Mandela.

(The keynote is scheduled for 19:30.)

9:00-15:00 – 12 June, Sparks Meetings, Rue Ravenstein 60, Brussels

9:30-10:20 – Session one: Rethinking EU agrifood policy to boost competitiveness, featuring a keynote from Giuseppe Natale, co-Founder Valagro and Vedalia, Board Member Hubruzzo.

10:20-11:10 – Session two: Enhanced farmer toolboxes – key to sustainable and competitive agriculture, with a moderated panel discussion featuring industry and agrifood leaders.

11:40-12:25 – Breakout sessions: three parallel problem-solving discussions:

– Fostering innovation in animal by-products in the circular economy

– Harnessing the power of beneficial microorganisms across the bioeconomy

– Empowering farmers to keep up with innovation

13:25-15:00 – Session three: Time to market – key to keeping innovation in Europe and maintaining farmer competitiveness, with Luis Vivas-Alegre of DG AGRI, investors, and industry leaders.
