EBIC elects new Board Members

The European Biostimulants Industry Council (EBIC) has announced the election of its new President, Vice President, and Treasurer following the General Assembly held on 26th June 2025. All three were elected with broad support from EBIC’s membership for a first term running until the end of 2027. They are eligible for re-election for a second term of two years.

Carlos Rodríguez-Villa Förster has been elected President after serving as Vice President and acting President since late 2024. With a background in economics and digital business, Carlos brings extensive experience across international business development, biotechnology, and agriculture. As Managing Director of AlgaEnergy, he leads a global pioneer in microalgae biotechnology, supporting millions of farmers worldwide.

Marco Rosso has been elected Vice President. Marco is Global Head of Sustainability and Corporate Affairs for Syngenta Biologicals and Seedcare. He has had a long term career in the agricultural sector, combining scientific, regulatory, and communications expertise gained from leadership roles at Agrofarma-Federchimica and Assofertilizzanti, as well as in European industry associations.

Antonis Angeletakis has been elected Treasurer. Antonis currently serves as Director for Biostimulants at Yara International. With over 20 years of experience in crop nutrition, biologicals, and plant protection, he brings strong technical and commercial expertise to the Board.

Carlos Rodríguez-Villa Förster thanked members for their support, stating:

Our leadership values expertise, innovation and collaboration, supporting EBIC as it works to ensure fair access, foster innovation, and champion a resilient agricultural future.

The EBIC Board also continues to be supported by Alice Toderi (Hello Nature) and Massimo Toni (Agronutrition) in their roles as Directors-at-Large.
