EBIC Regulatory workshop takes members along the four pathways currently open for plant biostimulant developments in the EU

On 25 September 2025, EBIC ran a members-only, online regulatory workshop designed to provide members a helicopter view of current and future developments for plant biostimulants under the Fertilising Products Regulation (FPR), and to equip them to make the most of the legislative initiatives open in 2025 and beyond.
The session was led by the EBIC Secretariat, who shared an overarching view of the current regulatory landscape and opportunities for EBIC to address historic roadblocks in plant biostimulants’ access to market. Topics covered included the European Commission’s evaluation of the FPR, the proposal for simplification of the FPR in the chemicals omnibus, progress in the implementation of FPR, and other legislative initiatives expected over the coming months. EBIC members gained valuable insights into the opportunities created by these initiatives, a broad understanding of EBIC’s strategy for each of them and a chance to address their doubts or share insights for collective sense-making.
