The EBIC summit brings together policymakers, food chain leaders, NGOs and academics to discuss how to satisfy the increasing demand for food in the light of the many challenges we face. Plant biostimulants are an enabling technology for sustainable agriculture, helping growers mitigate the effects of climate change, improve soil health and support yields.
The 2026 EBIC Summit explored the theme ‘Exploring the Imperatives for Competitiveness, Security and Resilience in European Agriculture’. Against a backdrop of climate volatility, geopolitical uncertainty, shifting global trade dynamics and growing pressure on food systems, the Summit focused on how European agriculture can remain productive, competitive and resilient while delivering on sustainability objectives. Discussions highlighted the importance of collaboration across the agrifood value chain, innovative solutions, nutrient efficiency, climate resilience and the role of plant biostimulants in supporting farmers as they navigate an increasingly complex operating environment (read more about the EBIC Summit 2026 here).
The 2025 EBIC Summit’s theme was ‘Making competitive and sustainable EU agriculture a reality’. Amidst geopolitical uncertainty, climate stress and fragmented policymaking, the Summit focused on the urgent need to secure food supplies while enhancing sustainability and competitiveness. 2024’s Summit focussed on two key themes: Ensuring food security and quality in times of turbulence and Supporting farmers in times of turbulence. Invited attendees learnt more about European policy on food and agriculture, networked with senior stakeholders in relevant organisations, and debated how to achieve our common objectives in agriculture and food (read more bout the EBIC Summit 2024 here.)
Our 2023 event focused on the need for collaboration to ensure future food security and sustainability. It covered three primary challenges: food security, soil health and the circular economy.
