SugaROx Ltd was set up in Feb 2021 to develop crop biostimulants based on a proprietary version of trehalose-6-phosphate, a natural signaling molecule found in all plants. Our technology was invented by Oxford University and Rothamsted Research and is backed up by 20+ years of science.
In the glasshouse, the inventors behind our technology and co-founders of our venture have demonstrated yields gains of 20% for wheat (DOI:10.1038/nature20591). More recently, they have obtained proof-of-concept for the use of the technology in the field (unpublished results).
Over the last year, we have developed prototype formulations for our first product and are now preparing an extensive range of field trials. We have the potential and ambition to build a global brand, and are looking to rapidly expand our R&D pipeline through strategic partnerships.
